Vera Greenfield was b orn into a Hasidiic family in the Polish Pale in the 1880s. She trained as a nurse in Russia and after her immigration came to Santa Rosa where she set up a Maternity home. Shew also founded the California Allaince of Jewish Women. She was an active Zionist and a pioneer Jewish Woman in medicine.
